More Nailpolish~

Found Essie French Affair and Coat Azure for $4.19 in Walgreens.

But you know....I walked out without getting what I originally went into the store for.

This week I'm paying my deposit/security on my first apartment and I'm excited, but confused. I'm happy because I'll have a place where I can keep my Alien Bees up if I choose...but it is definitely an experience for me since this will be my first place REALLY on my own.

Post graduation (from december until my official ceremony on the 14th and such) has been something else for me. I feel like I've made a bunch of accomplishments and did a jumble of cool things in such a short span of time. I'm almost ready for a nap now lol.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Memorial Day weekend! I'll be back shortly =]

A Scene (or two) From My Garden

A quick picture of my tomatoes and broccoli leaves. Everything is growing wonderfully and the broccoli leaves feel sooooooo good when I touch them. They're thick and lovely...almost velvety. I'm so proud of my plants!

Besides those two, i'm growing strawberries, peas, beets, onions, green peppers, chili peppers, spinach...and I think that's it besides my grape plant that so far only has 3 leaves on it lol.

O2B2 DC May 2011

I'll be honest, when I first heard about the Out of the Beauty Box Tour, I really wasn't sure about it. While it wasn't nearly as expensive as some of the other class options I had once been looking into, it still was still quite a lot of money to plunk down from my transitioning college budget.

So, I did some research. Fished around, stalked the site (found here), read reviews, and then repeated the process for a while as I thought it over before finally deciding to go ahead and do it.

Actually, I'm really glad I did. So, my thoughts are:

  • Koren was an excellent teacher. He moved at a nice pace, answered all of our questions, kept the mood light, and was super cool to meet. (Also told me how to get eyelash glue off my shirt!)
  • The class was very informative, going over things like color theory and Koren threw in lots of tips and tricks that could help improve your speed and technique
  • I would imagine that this class could be repetitive for those that do makeup on others often but I think a person would still be able to manage to pick up something new.
  • In regards to the above, if that is the case....the class is still worth its cost because of the kit you receive
  • Uhm....goodies?! I like goodies...and you get some pretty excellent stuff as well.
(My computer must've gotten excited because it blue screened during that last part)

I will also say that if you're signing up for the classes, don't miss out on the classes that focus more on the business side as well. I was lucky enough to be picked to attend the Contracts class while I was there and I feel like that was a really, really helpful class. It went over some things I probably wouldn't have thought about on my own and how to get those things right.

Gorgeous Model
What else did I have to say? Overall it was a great experience and I'm glad I took the trip over to do it.

Koren at Work
Below is a class picture. These ladies we so cool. Also, while on a group trip to get lunch together, they put some things in perspective for me. Like, lately everywhere I turn people have been telling me to do everything I want to do, love to do, etc. because I am still young and at the perfect age to do so. I guess meeting them and hearing pretty much that same message as well as some personal experiences made me feel more like I should take all the opportunities presented to me and do what I would really love to do, whatever that may be (I'm currently a professional floater...i don't know what I want to be when I grow up so I just let the wind take me wherever~)

I'm really glad we exchanged contact information and such. When I get a chance, I'll edit this to links to their youtubes and such since a few said they would be posting a review soon as well.

Class picture!
So, all in all it was a pretty good weekend. If I ever get the chance to, I will definitely be signing up to take the airbrush class. One day, one day. lol

Anyhow, that is it for me tonight. Officially hitting E right now.
If anybody would like to know what exactly the kit contained or had any other questions, feel free to shoot me a comment and I'll respond okay?

Until next time~ (^_^)v

    Sneak Peak~

So much to say, so much to say!

So let me gather my thoughts before I say it, since I have a bad habit of shrinking hours of story into two sentences.

Please accept that picture as a preview though (^_^).

    Meh!

There are quite a few bloggers that I'm following where their posts don't show up in my feed. Been happening for a while, but still quite annoying.

Anybody having that issue and possibly know how to fix it?

    Finally Finished!

Forced smile from Me, Mommy~, and her BF.

How I really felt because of the rain...
Eh. Blogger won't let me space things right so I'll post at the end I guess.

This part weekend was my college graduation. Saturday's event was inside, personal, and pleasant. However, the pictures above are from Sunday's ceremony and it was the worst! It was outside and the rain did not let up for a moment. We were all went and it rained so much the ground couldn't absorb the water so we were in puddles. The ceremony was supposed to be shortened, but it didn't seem like it was. Many people got up and left in the middle. I wanted to, but I stuck it out.

I'm glad everything is all over, but I won't be remembering that particular ceremony in a positive light. It was an absolute mess. I hate wet socks, feet, and shoes.

Well....time to figure out what's next I guess.

I randomly decided to switch back to my original home in the NYC area (had been in DE for 6 months since I didn't have to go to Albany for school this semester). So now I'm just figuring out what I want to do, trying to get a permanent space, etc etc etc. So we'll see what happens you know?

Below is a picture of my Big Bounce shadow and a quick swatch.

    Ta-da~!

I know a lot of people in the blog world didn't really care for these which was partially the reason why I was going to just completely pass on them. But I went in to MAC to get a lighter brow pencil and ended up warming up to them after making conversation with an employee at the counter.

The consistency is definitely different from anything I've experienced in an eyeshadow since it's kind of creamy and whipped, but not quite like a mousse and is pretty wet. Because of this (and all the negative reviews), I put mine on with a patting motion, using my finger and starting out with very little, pretty much going 'pat pat' until it was dry.

For me, it went on evenly and over my primer I had over a solid 8 hours of wear with no creasing. Actually, I would consider buying more! I'm not in a huge rush though, so we'll see if I really do.

Anyhow, that's all for me today. Anybody else try something that a lot of people seemed to hate and loved it?

FTC Disclosure: Bought and tried at the risk of my own money and the recorded result (in this case praise) is my honest opinion.

    Shocked!

I don't normally go crazy over MAC releases, but for some reason, I'm actually looking forward to the Surf, Baby! Collection coming out May 26th.

Based off information floating about the internet and swatches posted over at Temptalia, I might be most looking forward to seeing:
    Krazy Kahuna Lipglass
    Hibiscus and Bust Out! Lipsticks
    My Paradise cheek powder
Saffron, Sun Blonde, and Surf USA eyeshadows

And that would be it. Of course, I will most likely wait to check them out in person, but they've caught my attention for the moment. I might forget by the time it's released, but we'll see what happens.

Looking at the photos makes my head scream "MORE!" in the sense of more dramatic next time...But I tend to keep it pretty neutral for work.

I'm pretty sporadic with my posting so I'm thinking about running something to get me posting at least once on the same day each week...And I know exactly what I'll be doing too! Starting this week even!

And no....I wont tell until it happens ;)
