Decoden Bug Strikes Again!

This time I decided to do something way more feminine in terms of style and color and I love how it turned out!

I'm thinking I need to use more large pieces on my work though, so I will keep that in mind for next try. I kind of like the cluttered look. Also, these pearls took forever for me to stick on so it would actually help eliminate how much detail work/time each case takes.

So what am I doing with all these cases? No clue...I do it for fun. I find it relaxing and it makes me happy. I actually have only kept the first case I made on my phone. I never take it off and I love it, though I might trade it out for this one.

I'm actually going to try my hand at making one for a friend next....Let's see how that goes.

Experimenting With Face Charts

My friend and I went and bought some watercolor paper from a craft store and took it over to staples for them to print face charts onto for us...and it worked!
I made my first one last night and it was a little difficult to get used to (i smudged quite a few things)..but i think my next one will definitely be better.
I couldn't even tell you what i used as i was just grabbing things for practice. Ill note my next one though.

Decoden Adventure #2

Lately, this has been taking over my life. I have so many decoden ideas and projects....I've been very excited.

Anyhow. For this one..i tried piping silicone through a cake decorating tip and the stuck some delicious looking cabochons in there. The rest i covered in rhinestones and some pearls. Success!

Will definitely be making some more this week. Its a very relaxing hobby for me.

A Little Hurricane Sandy Talk...

Ack!

Well, as everyone may know....Hurricane Sandy has hit some areas pretty hard. I live on Staten Island where a lot of people had to evacuate (though luckily I didn't) and there has been a lot of damage. I was lucky enough to get my power back yesterday night after not having any since Monday, but there are still many others without power and homes and are way worse off because of this storm.

Not just on staten island, but many places were hit badly and if is nothing you can do to help, at the very least...keep those affected in your thoughts.

Even where I'm at it seems so surreal....I feel like I was living in a bubble since I had no contact to the outside world from in my apartment and my area is pretty normal..

But now that I've returned to work, I hear stories about missing people, houses completely destroyed by places that's not more than 2 miles from where I live and used to normally frequent...Some streets are normal while if i drive down others there are trees or posts down and blocking the road....

It definitely puts a lot of things into perspective.

Signing off now!

First Venture Into Decoden!!!

As a lover of all things cute and pretty....I guess it was only a matter of time before I got into decorating things such as phone cases....Or rather...I've always liked it but I've finally decided to try it myself.

So...I bought a few things and some clear phone cases and got to work!

You can see in the corner my method...I picked out what big pieces I wanted on there and just stuck them down first. I used E-6000 glue to stick all my things on. After I did the big pieces, I went ahead and decided to cover the rest with rhinestones. I figured if I was going to do it.....I should just go all out.

The above is another picture of some of the pieces I got. I also have some crowns, stars, hearts with wings etc. All kinds of cute things.
And that above....is the final result!! Not too shabby for a first try. And now I'm completely addicted and can't wait to do more! I think my next one will definitely have some pink going on in there.

On the flip side....I enjoyed myself so much..I'm thinking about getting some silicone and things to make the kind of ones that look like they have whipped cream...and getting sweets/cake themed cabochons...Wouldn't that be cute?

Other than that...Here's a pretty average FOTD for me:
Using MUFE HD Foundations in 153&173. Kett setting powder. Some MAC Accentuate shaping powder. MAC blush in cantaloupe and my new favorite lipstick ever for a pink MAC Hug Me. Very quick and easy daily look.

That's all for now! Will be back with some updates after my workshop at Makeup Forever tomorrow with Roshar...(so excited!).

Later!

Circle Lens Haul from LensVillage.com

I placed an order from LensVillage.com for the first time at the end of August. They were having a 15% off sale on most GEO lens so I picked up a few pairs. Unfortunately, it's been a bit since I purchased them so I don't remember the details about say, how long shipping took, but I do know that it didn't take an obsessively long time like I had with my last circle lens purchase. These also all came with cases.

So here's what I got:

Review: Princess Mimi/Bambi Almond Brown Circle Lens

Sorry for the delay, kind of in the middle of quite sucky break up.

Anyhow. I finally received my package from Shoppingholics. I had heard good reviews on them so I decided to place my order there this time, especially since I forgot where I ordered from last time.

My Experience: ...I placed my order in June, the order shipped pretty quickly, I believe on June 19th. Unfortunately, I didn't receive my order until August 3rd. That's quite a while for me or maybe I'm just impatient. I don't know. I will say that based on other people's experiences, this is not always the case. So maybe I'm just special.

Also, when I did send them an email to question them about this, they replied very quickly and were very nice/helpful. So, because customer service was great and this seems to be an exception...I think I would probably try ordering there again and see what happens. My package did get to me safe and sound so..whatevs lol.

Sneak Peak!

My new circle lens have finally arrived~!

Princess Mimi Bambi Chocolate Browns. Expect a full review on them possibly Monday after I test them out.

I've already had the Sesame Grey and the Apple Green and I loved them..(might even snag another pair of each) so I hope I love these as well.

Is There Anyone Out There....

There used to be...and I'm sure there still are a few here and there.

First off...I'm sorry.

I started this blog with the intent of posting looks, which was originally exciting because I could see when I was improving and things I needed to work on to get better...But since I no longer work at a makeup counter or a place where I can wear what I want on a daily basis, I now wear the same clean looks. Nothing worth posting in my opinion as it really doesn't change much (besides my lip color).

As a result....I've been fading in and out randomly...and I probably won't stop yet.

As much as I neglect it, I love my blog....So recently I've been really trying to find the direction I would like to take it in and find my voice..For some, that's easy...For me, it's been a little more difficult mainly because I've been distracted with other things...

But, I'm trying.

And I'm going to start by trying to take advantage of being able to schedule posts so that maybe when I do fade, it doesn't seem like I've disappeared (the art of a good pump fake).

So, I'll be back. Thanks for being patient and sticking around..

On the flip side..I'm on Instagram (name: Onjel), twitter (@jelz127), and least frequently tumblr (delightfullypretty.tumblr.com) if you're ever curious about what I do in day to day life (mostly eat and kickbox <--trying to get that work out on) so I'm never toooo far.

Once again, I'll see you guys in a few <3 br="br">

Essie: Tart Deco

I FINALLY found it...I've bought every color in this family and wasn't satisfied...and now that I finally have Tart Deco on my nails, its everything I knew I needed in life.

Seriously. I didn't even wait for them to dry to snap a picture and post this. So excuse the excess paint on my nails, I've always sucked at coloring. They need to be cleaned up when they dry...because I WILL NOT risk smudging these.

Yes....for once I am ABSOLUTELY excited.

The perfect peachy color....a peachy pink grapefruit...iunno. its beautiful. Did I mention this is the color of my dreams??

Essie: Peach Daiquiri

Pre clean-up since I painted them literally right before work.

I'm not sure why its called peach since its more like a coral/pinky kind of color...but I like it lol.

Still looking for Tart Deco though. I just know in my heart that that might be the color of my dreams.

Notw: Essie Nice is Nice

One of my favorite lavenders. I have a bad habit of buying polishes and using them only once or twice, but I think I'm on time #4 with this one.

I did three coats for complete coverage.

More OCC Lip Tar Swatches

These once a month posts need to stop! But it's hard when I'm not really feeling like I have anything worth posting about.

But anyway. I did some extra quick swatches of some new lip tars I got in the colors Melange, Memento, and Grandma. This time they're in the new packaging which has a much slimmer opening that the previous one. I really like it a lot more, definitely better for control since you literally only need a pinch to cover your lips completely.

Melange (terracotta neutral):

 Memento (Midtone pink/plum):

Grandma (Classic coral):

Sugarpill Heart Breaker Palette look #2

This time I used Acidberry, 2am, Velocity and also Buttercupcake.

My foundation was the only base I used under it today.

Nail Love

I have a bad habit of doing my nails before I fall asleep...

CVS near me had some nail polishes on sale for 75% off while I was there not too long ago. They had Sally Hansen and even some Essie ones and was able to buy a bunch for about $2 a pop.

This color is Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect in Dune.

I like the color, but I hated the brush...made it hard to get the sides of my nails without making a mess because its a little bigger and shaped differently than I'm used to.

Sugarpill Heart Breaker Look #1

Used the whole Heart Breaker palette with some help from Buttercupcake and Bulletproof

Edit: These shadows really don't read shimmery...Whenever I post directly from my phone, the pictures come out a little wonky and they just float lol =/

Latest Sugarpill Purchase

Sooooo....when I found out that Sugarpill Cosmetics would be releasing the new Heartbreaker Palette, I pretty much decided I was going to get it whether I knew for sure what colors were in it and then, after some poking around on the internet, I pretty much counted the days until I ordered it when I woke up on May 18th.

I already own all of Sugarpill's other pressed shadows and they are without a doubt some of my favorite shadows in terms of quality (Bulletproof is my all time favorite matte black shadow that I've come across in case anyone is wondering. I almost died when I thought I lost it). My biggest concern was actually how/if I would use these colors xD but that obviously couldn't stop me. I'll just have to find a way lol.

Anyhow, here's what was in my box~

Small Makeup Show Haul

The Makeup Show, while having a lot of educational events going on, is a makeup junkie's paradise when it comes to the showroom and all the brands available at steep discounts.

Had this been a year ago, I'm sure I would have went CRAZY in there. But alas, I already have too much crap that I need to run through and don't have enough space for so I stuck to basics things I needed (though the Kissable Couture glosses were just for fun lol) and a few things (not pictured) for a Mother's Day gift for my lovely mom who encourages me to do all the things I want to do and helps me achieve that as much as possible <33.

Ren from Makeup by RenRen at the Graftobi

I had a great first experience at The Makeup Show NYC. I went alone, saw some people I knew, managed to meet a few new people, surfed the crowd, sat front and center during seminars, and overall managed to make it through the weekend in one piece.

It was a really uplifting event and it made me want to do more work to get to where I want to be. I'm also proud of myself for opening up and managing to speak to some new people. Next year I hope to do even better on that end and will be working on it continuously.

Overall, it was a packed event, but I had a great time.

And now, 3 days later....I'm still sleepy. So....bed.

In-Between Post~

I'm up and getting ready to the city for Day 2 of the Makeup Show (travel from staten island is sometimes annoying), but I just wanted to check in and say that Day 1 was.......Nothing short of awesome!

I have soooooooooooooooooo much to talk about....not so many pictures (I'm not sure why I bother carrying a camera sometimes), but I do have some cool shots and things to share. So after today I'll do a post on The Experience NYC and then the Makeup Show.

Much more exciting than having to see a picture of my face and only that....But, just so I don't break with tradition, here's one anyway from last week. It's my inside face, because I only wear neutrals outdoors because of my job:
Sugarpill Tako on the lid (matte white), Poison Plum (purple) and Bulletproof (matte black) for everything else.

Before I go, does anybody else find it really awkward to just take pictures of people? I always wonder what people think of getting their picture taking when they're presenting or something. They're probably used to it, but in my head I'm like "I hope they don't think I'm weird or rude...." so I tend not to xD. Sucks a little.

So, if any if anybody is going to the Experience or the Makeup Show (I'll be there both days), please let me know!! I'll make it my mission to hunt you down to meet you!

I'm looking forward to the weekend~!!!

Still alive, still alive....

And keeping it simple as of late changing only my lip color once in a while.

(That purple is MAC All of My Purple Life lipgloss. Kind of liking it a lot lately)

Currently trying to get my skin care game back on point like it was...

I have some updates...things I wrote and never posted. I'll be working on getting those up this week.

I'm thinking I need to do some spring cleaning over here though...
