Before Class Quickie

Wearing eyeliner,  little bit of LaFemme Golden Sunset on the cheeks which doesn't appear to show on camera, and MAC Brash & Bold pigment on lips with clear gloss. I look a little tired and have a few scars that light foundation usually covers but its 93 degrees out and I honestly don't care when its hot. I'm a winter baby T_T.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are my long days in class where I'm in from 10am-7pm with a 90 minute break at 1pm. I guess thats the trade off since I only have one class Monday and Wednesday at 415pm.

Have a good day everyone!

Moved In..

Finally finished moving into my dorm and buying everything that I should need! I'm happy because I managed to move in by myself this year, but now I still need to unpack everything and I don't feel like doing it. I might want to soon though because my first class is tomorrow.

Anyhow.. There is a CCO on my way up to school so I felt the need to stop in and look around since it was on the way. Only meant to stop in and look around but of course I bought a few things.

Brash & Bold and Heritage Rouge pigments,  Warm Chill and One-Off eyeshadows, and Bobbi Brown Mink eyeshadow.

I'm thinking its a good thing I start work again on Wednesday. I'm also thinking that I shouldn't be buying anything else for quite a while.

Not that I really want anything besides NARS Strawberry Fields at the moment. I think I need to go have a look around my collection and just play in there.

A Few NYX Cream Blush Swatches

I volunteered to swatch the few NYX cream blushes that I have for Alina at Makeup Moment.

The ones I own are (going clockwise from top left):

Red Cheek, Hot Pink, Rose Petal, Glow

Red Cheek

Glow

Rose Petal

Hot Pink

Glow and Rose Petal look a little similar to me in these pictures, but in reality when I compare the two Glow reminds me more of a kind of candy pink while Rose Petal is pink, but more muted...kind of beige-y, nude-ish pink. Not as pink as the picture shows in my opinion.

Back to school? Bleh.

My least favorite time of year has rolled around pretty quickly. I'm in the process of packing my stuff to move back up to school for what will hopefully be my last semester this weekend. I guess I dislike it so much because I've never been good at fitting a lot of stuff into a small place. My makeup collection falls into that category. Even though I've switched the all of my eyeshadows and lipsticks into palettes, for some reason it seems as though there is STILL too much to fit in the case I normally store it all in..Is that when I have too much? I have an easier time with clothing and books than makeup...

In other news, here's an old FOTD I did some time in July.

Used:

Graftobian Warm Sunset Hi-Def Cream Foundation
MAC Superdupernatural blush
Cargo Bronzer in Dark

Eyes:
UDPP
Stars Makeup Haven: Fifi, Foxy, Ultra Violet
Sugarpill: Goldilux, Bulletproof
Jane Be Pure Mineral Eyeliner Black
Sephora Lashes

Lips:
MAC Bare Slimshine
Nars Lipgloss in Giza

Not sure if I'll do any new ones until after I move in. We'll see..

La Femme Blush Swatces

It seems like all i ever do is swatch items, but I've bought so much stuff this summer I feel as though I might as well lol.

So for this time, it will be La Femme blushes that I ordered from Makeup Mania at the end of last month. It took a while for my order to be ready, but i think that is partially because I used the Palette Lab (which they state on the website adds about an extra 5 days) and two of my blushes (Bordeaux and Mocha) weren't in stock and are to be shipped to me at a later date. Once my order shipped though I had it in about 3 days. All of my blushes safely except one (Pink).

The Palettle Lab Blushes come pre-assembled for you.

I poked all my blushes out and rearranged them to the order shown above. I was also going to write their names on the back of their pans but that was already done! Yay for spending an hour looking for a permanent marker for no reason!

The Colors I Bought:
Row 1: Pink Velvet, Stormy Rose, Golden Ruby, Precious Plum, Coral Spice
Row 2: Flamingo Pink, Golden Sunset, Framboesia, Coral, Apricot
Row 3: Peach, Heather, Magenta, Grape, Purple Passion

(Heavy) Swatchess:

Pink Velvet, Flamingo Pink, Peach

Stormy Rose, Golden Sunset, Heather

Precious Plum, Coral, Grape

Golden Ruby, Framboesia, Magenta

Coral Spice, Apricot, Purple Passion

When I swatched them, Framboesia and Purple Passion seemed most likely to be glittery so they, along with Heather, will be hanging out in their own separate palette waiting to be joined with more. Golden Sunset seemed like glitter might be a potential issue as well but I love that color the most out of all of them so I decided it could keep its place. Regardless of the shimmer, I love all the colors I got. The majority of the other ones are either matte or the shimmer didn't appear as noticeable when I swatched them.

Overall, I'm happy. They're all very pigmented, so theres no issue with them showing up or being used up too quickly. Also, the 12 shadows with the palette only cost $35 and the single pans are only $2.50 each so even if some colors had turned out to be a miss, I feel like I can't even be mad about it lol. I would consider collecting the ones I don't own just to check them out eventually.

And...that is all.

NOTD: ELF Nail Polish in Champagne

ELF Nail Polish in Champange:

When I bought it, I thought it would be more of a beige-type color because of the name, but no matter the lighting, on me its pink! Not that I mind though, I actually really like the color! Definitely needs a base and top coat to help it last though or it'll chip very easily. But for $1, I can't be mad at that or the misleading name.

Mini Haul

Dropped by MAC today and picked up Going Bananas and Beautiful Iris. Was going to get Crazy Cool but i decided that I liked Beautiful Iris more. As for the other colors in the Dare to Wear collection, I like bright matte colors, but I never really wear them so I decided to just pass those up.

Beautiful Iris and Going Bananas

Going Bananas and Beautiful Iris:

While I was there, I also traded in some empties for Vegas Volt and Girl About Town. My next one will probably for either Cyber or Morange.

Urban Decay Naked Palette

I'm a huge fan of Urban Decay eyeshadows as long as they're not glitter bombs. I was excited when I found out about this palette, however after seeing swatches I thought that I could probably skip it since I already have a lot of neutrals. However, I saw it in a Sephora inside JCPenney and I had a gift card so without thinking, I bought it anyway. Who was I trying to fool? I love palettes, Urban Decay, and you can never have enough neutrals!

Look I did using it..Sorry a little of my eyes are cut off. I can't take a good picture of myself to save my life unless I'm using a webcam.

Face:
Graftobian HD Foundation in Golden Sunset
Nars Multiple in Portofino

Eyes:
Urban Decay: Primer Potion, Sin, Toasted, Hustle, Virgin
Jane Be Pure Mineral Gel Eyeliner in Black

Uh-Oh!

Once upon a time, my goal was to pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test at level 1. This was a long while ago though when I had just began studying Japanese. Having a goal such as that gave me a little extra push to study more than I had been.

However, since I've gone to college, I haven't really cared about the JLPT. Honestly, studying Japanese for grades made me unsure as to whether or not I wanted to continue Japanese. A part of me thinks that its because at school I do it for the grade, whereas before I had just been doing it for my own pleasure. But, I guess I should've thought about that earlier though being that I only have one class left to finish my Japanese major lol.

Anyhow. I guess it was somewhat spur of the moment, but I signed myself up for the JLPT N2 in this December. The result: I've been freaking out since I hit the button to make it official. Even though the deadline is so far away, I'm worried I won't be prepared.

From now until December this will probably stay in my mind. Anybody else get like that?

NYX Round Lipgloss Swatches Final

Finally! The last few of the lip swatches. Out of all of them, this set were definitely the sloppiest and I apologize as I was in a rush. However...I can finally stop looking at my mouth up close, so I know I'm happy.

In all, I'm a fan of NYX lipglosses. I love that they're not sticky, I like the scent, and I get pretty okay wear out of them. They're also pretty pigmented. Overall, a solid buy in my book.
