Peek-a-Boo

This is more like a slight update...I plan to do a longer post and actually create a blogroll and other such things later on this week.

I used:
MAC Going Bananas, Sweet&Punchy, Firecracker, and Rice Paper
Urban Decay Liner in Zero
CoverGirl Lashblast Fusion Mascara

Going back under my rock. Hope everyone is having a good week though~

At Some Point or Another....

Sugarpill Burning Heart Quad.

Been trying to get it right. Almost everyone has done it, but I couldn;t get it to even look okay. I think I somehow managed to resolve whatever the problem was.

Mmm. More eyes later.

Monday, Tuesday Eyes

With midterms and papers kicking my butt, I've been keeping things simple since I've been functioning with less sleep than normal.

Eyes:
UDPP
Smashbox Nude eyeshadow
MAC Warm Chill, Sketch, and i *think* Femme-Fi eyeshadows
Urban Decay Bourbon liner
Covergirl Lashblast fusion mascara

I hate using pencil to line my eyes. I always have such a hard time and I'm impatient as well. I guess I've become too used to a brush...

 Eyes:
UDPP
Smashbox Nude eyeshadow with MAC Flip dusted over it
Urban Decay Last Call eyeshadow and Zero liner
The highlight I think is MAC Rice Paper...I only use that or Femme-Fi, but by the end of the day I forget =/

So, everyone seems to be anticipating Sephora's friends and family sale. Originally, I didn't intend to buy anything beyond skin care I'm running low on...But I'm considering picking up a MAKEUP FOREVER Aqua Cream guy or two since I know I'm definitely looking for a good base...I have time to think about it. Nothing is really moving me right now.

Am I the only one not really in the mood to shop? Or are others definitely planning on picking up some items during the event?

Full Face Blues FOTD

For the first time in a while, I did a full face today. I'm sure its been noticed that I am not exactly a foundation wearer. I like the look, I just tend not to do it even if I want to. We're never on the same page...

Anyhow, blue and purples for the day!

trouble starting...

So what did I use?

Face:Graftobian Foundation in Golden Sunset
Cargo bronzer in Dark
LaFemme Blush in Coral Spice

Eyes:
UDPP
NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean
Wet n' Wild eyeshadow in Lagoon is surprising the blue on the lid
Stars Makeup Haven Wine Not? eyeshadow
Stars Makeup Haven Dress Blues eyeshadow
Sugarpill Bulletproof eyeshadow
MAC Femme-Fi eyeshadow as a highlight

LIPS:
Wet n' Wild lipliner in Plumberry
Benefit lipstick in Lady's Choice
NARS Ligloss in Giza
closed
open
I'm actually pleasantly surprised with the Wet n' Wild eyeshadow. It has been a while since I bought one, apparently they've revamped their shadows and now the pigmentation is surprisingly good. I have only recently bought this one shadow though so it's the only one that I can speak for. The base definitely helped, but it did pretty well alone too.

On the other hand, NYX Jumbo Pencils are getting the boot from me. I love them, I really do...but they crease. And I do not love that.

Creases are a BIG no-no.
So, I'm on the hunt for a new base. I'm on the hunt for a lot of things it seems...This is important though. Because as you can see from the picture below, when I looked in the mirror and saw the above, I was NOT amused.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Gold and Green?

No question mark...those are definitely the colors I used.
To be exact, it was MAC Amber Lights, One-Off, Flip, Femme-Fi, and a little bit of Bobbi Brown Mink. It was okay.

I feel like I need a lot more work on my eyeshadow application. Try again I guess lol.

And I wanted to share what I consider a pretty lip combo!

MAC Made to Order with Buxom Brandi Lipgloss
My favorite new thing is mixing and matching things I can't wear alone or colors that don't seem like they would go together. Pretty fun way to use a lot of stuff just laying around collecting dust.

Also, does anyone know how to make the little read more link on your page so that its not just one long block of text/pictures hanging out to be loaded when you first open the site?

Thats all for now~

Happy Weekend!

Start of midterms and belly dancing classes this week! <-Good reason to be excited and then not so excited.

The picture above is pretty much what I spent my weekend doing, relaxing around the area and enjoying the weather. Hope everyone was able to do the same.

How about I post some kind of makeup look tomorrow? I think I feel up to the challenge...

Just A Few Thoughts...

Well, for starters...I finally figured out a way to put the Siss lipstick I bought a few months ago to use. For a little while, I absolutely couldn't get it to do anything flattering for me. However, paired with a warm lipliner and my NARS Giza lipgloss...I rather like it.

Another thing on my mind lately...

I've been looking through my collection and I realize that I don't own a lot of matte eyeshadows. Lately, I've been really liking the look of them so I'm thinking I should grab a few. But then I wouldn't know what colors...I hate having repeat colors, but can you really call it repeat if the finish is different?

Really, I just want to try something new!

Girl About Town

Been hiding this week while I'm on my 12yr status with my braids.

I think MAC's Girl About Town lipstick is adding some to my age though. Good thing because I'm off to work lol.

Have a good day everyone!

A First Ever Look

Did this look with the first two MAC eyeshadows I ever bought, Tempting and Nocturnelle.

Mugshot
Nothing really too interesting, but it was nice to use the first combo ever introduced to me.

Granny Smith....Greens!

Eyes:
UDPP, MAC Painterly Paint Pot, NYX Black Bean Jumbo Pencil (only on the outer part of my lid though)

Jane Be Pure Mineral Eyeliner
Peter Thomas Roth Lashes to Die For Mascara and Covergirl LashBlast Fusion Masacara

Face:
Cargo Bronzer in Dark
MAC Peaches Blush...but it didn't really show so I added LaFemme Peach Blush as well

Lips:
NARS Giza Lipgloss

Product Shoutout

Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
I'm not one to really try and do reviews, I have the creative vocabulary of a panda. Everything is cool, great, or urg.

However, that makeup remover is part of the reason why I've been wearing a lot more makeup this week. In fact, I was even able to test run some colors too. The makeup remover I was using before, and I apologize for partially throwing you under the bus Bliss remover, was okay..but that was it. It took more work that I felt it should, I still ended up with some leftover something right on the bottom of my lower lash line no matter how hard I tried, and it stung if it got into my eyes.

By the way, EVERYTHING gets into my eyes. Its a fact of life. And pretty much everything I've used hurts when creeping in except this. So that is an automatic plus one. Besides that, it takes off my makeup and three-four layers of mascara with no issues, no unnecessary manual labor needed, and COMPLETELY. That last one is very important. I don't like to look like I still have some kind of liner on when I'm done and then in the morning look like a raccoon despite the fact that I washed my face at night. Oh and it didn't break the bank. I don't think I spent more than $7 on it.

It says it can remove waterproof makeup but I don't know how true that is. I don't wear waterproof stuff, one reason being that its so damn hard to get off. And yet, I am not curious to try. Don't fix it if it's not broken. But for your run of the mill products, nice.

Would I buy it again? Yes! But...I know I'm going to end up getting something else to try too (Philosophy Release Me, then I'm probably coming for you Lancome).

But for now..Three cheers for something that doesn't make doing what I like a hassle that I don't want to deal with taking off at the end of the day!

Chanel Iman-ing It...

It's no secret that I absolutely adore this picture of Chanel Iman.

Allure's September 2010 Issue
It's probably that boyish charm that is won me over enough to even put the picture on my wall. And then there is that lovely lip color..I made the executive decision to replicate the look.

Looking a little mean..

I did my go to neutral eye which is:
Smashbox Nude eyeshadow
Bobbi Brown Mink eyeshadow
MAC Sketch eyeshadow
MAC Ricepaper eyeshadow

On my cheeks I used:
NARS Luster and Taos blushes

Lips:
NARS Scarlet Empress lipstick and Strawberry Fields lipgloss
For liner I used Urban Decay Ozone.

I love my own lip color and I love a red lip...I rarely do anything in between. However this...Is so fall I think it made my head spin (in a good way).

Hope everyone had a good week!

Rainy Blues...

Its been pouring down rain in this area lately and now its cold outside again. It is October though, so I guess its time for fall weather to start making an appearance.

Anyway, today I went with something a little more bold than normal.

This is a truer representation of the colors on my eyes..

Lets see...I used:
FACE:
Cargo Bronzer in Dark
LaFemme Blush in Coral Spice
EYES:
UDPP
NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean
Urban Decay Flipside, Twice Bakes (which surprisingly ended up looking purple-y), Half Baked
Sugarpill Bulletproof
Gel Eyeliner and tons of mascara
Lips:
A mix of Urban Decay Lip Junkies in Peroxide and Wallflower

So what next? I'm thinking green, since it's been a while.

(Disappearing) Pink and Purple

Stars Makeup Haven Aurora went MIA on me even after all the work I had to do to clean up its fallout >=O. However, I'm glad that MAC Beautiful Iris made it to the party...At least one came =/
I think I'm liking this try more colors thing. It kind of adds to my mood.

Btw, anybody know of a nice pink eyeshadow? I think I'm in the market for one...
